Scholarships for Women in Architecture


The PhD Scholarships for Women position gives you the opportunity to intensively explore the prospects for the houses perspective from a human perspective The overall goal is basic knowledge in this field produce and live in the time evolution of the climate change and sustainable development. As a dynamic candidate, you are under the research program Transdisciplinary Homes for Tomorrow â € ™ € ™, the research expertise includes high and wide in the fields of water management, work building physics, acoustics and design of buildings and the arena of intellectual property and social partners and stakeholders. You may draw on experience from previous studies on the life and living in extreme environments on Earth and in space by NASA € ™ s space can be drawn.

The Scholarships for Women position is limited to maximum 5 years, which corresponds to four years of full-time research studies together with teaching in the undergraduate or Masters curricula at Chalmers. The aim is that you as an individual will evolve to an independent researcher for a continued career in academia, industry or other parts of society. As a doctoral student you will be part of an global research environment where you will additional develop your competences within a field and where you write you thesis. The work will include many discussions, individual work and some travels.

Required qualifications

We welcome Scholarships for Women applicants who are qualified for doctoral studies if at all possible with a degree in architecture, architecture and technology or comparative design studies. Applicants with practical experience of architectural design are encouraged to apply. You are probable to work independently, to develop your own thoughts, and to be skilled in communicating your scientific results, both vocally, visually and written in English. You will work in a transdisciplinary environment and is probable to be open for collaboration across disciplinary borders.

  • Attested copies of education certificates, including grade reports and other documents
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Letters of sanction and name of reference persons (optional)
